DIY Marketing Toolkit$350

This package is perfect for filmmakers who would like to benefit from TFC's preliminary research, recommendations and guidance, but wish to do their marketing work directly. TFC will evaluate your film and create a marketing toolkit tailored for your film's target audience that includes:

  • a basic marketing/distribution plan with a budget template listing all possible expenses
  • a checklist of marketing jobs at each stage in the production process
  • a list of up to 10 publications with contact details to submit releases, based on your film’s genre
  • written guidance on researching film festivals and a list of up to 10 film festivals to submit your film, customized to your type of film
  • Consultation: consultation with our team regarding your film (3 emails & 1 hour call). If you do not require this, we can reduce the fee to $175.

Add-ons:

  • for an additional $175 we can create an iFlier that you can use in your email campaign

DIY Marketing Toolkit Plus$500

This package provides all of the benefits of the regular DIY Marketing Toolkit package with significant additional assistance from TFC, including:

  • written document of best practices for pitching journalists.
  • written document of best practices for using social media/content creation for blogs.
  • content calendar template for use in organizing ideas for blog posts or any other content and when to release them.
  • your project's inclusion in our email blasts and in our social media activities.
  • Consultation: up to 5 Emails and two calls (for up to an hour each) for additional guidance

  • For special interest / activist documentaries / niche films an additional $250 charge TFC can provide a list of 50 organizations appropriate to your film that can be solicited for grassroots marketing partnerships. TFC will also provide a template cover letter for organizations.

This package provides all of the services and information that you would get with the DIY Marketing Toolkit Plus package, but TFC would coordinate and execute the marketing strategy.

  • customize marketing/distribution plan and budget formulated in cooperation with someone on your team
  • consultation with your web designer on website elements necessary for all phases of the production
  • early research on possible opportunities/outlets for publicity coverage and guidance for you or your team member on researching, generating and pitching stories to journalists/bloggers

  • feedback on trailer and ways to improve it/test it
  • guidance on email marketing, best practices, encouraging email sign up
  • guidance on content publishing (frequency, scope, sourcing material, creating material) and how to spread it for maximum attention

DYA has a unique and powerful business model for targeting precise demographic and psychographic audiences.

DYA has established a double opt-in relationship online with over 32 million consumers nationwide who have given their permission to market to them. DYA then sends these consumers surveys in which they indicate their buying preferences across a range of entertainment products.

DYA’s Email for Media widget promotes a deeper fan engagement for clients by providing a Free Media download to the consumer. Clients harvest the permission based email addresses from the download, and consumers post the product link on their Facebook wall and Twitter page.

This premium level marketing package is provided by TFC in conjunction with its Online Marketing Partner LBi (formerly Special Ops Media). LBi’s clients include: Focus, Fox Searchlight, Lions Gate, Coke, Puma, and they have worked on hundreds of films.

TFC and LBi will execute an ePR, blog, and grassroots organization outreach campaigns (if appropriate/relevant) to promote each film and deliver information/assets to the target audience, creating awareness and driving ticket sales.

LBi will leverage its extensive database of over 13,000 website/blog editors to secure prominent online coverage for the release. The target demographic will be specifically targeted through a variety of general entertainment, film, indie film, intelligentsia, male/female lifestyle and fan websites/blogs, as well as any other relevant genres of sites (depending on each individual title).

As part of the campaign, we will:

  • Secure online features and reviews
  • Premiere trailers and one-sheets, and then syndicate them to all relevant sites
  • Ensure that all information on sites is accurate
    • Example: correct art, synopsis, cast list, etc. on all sites posting information

Viral Video Uploading & Management

TFC and LBi will implement a viral video uploading and management campaign to ensure that all of film’s video assets are exposed to the target audience.

As part of the viral video campaign, LBi will:

  • Upload available clips/trailers from the film to the top 10 viral video portals, including YouTube and other key sites (Vimeo, Veoh, Daily Motion, etc.)
  • Organize all video content to maximize resonance amongst each portals’ audience
  • Label and tag all video clips to maximize search return results and views
  • Leverage editorial relationships with portals’ content managers to secure featured placements on portals
